Vancouver’s Dorset College and the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business recently signed an agreement that allows business students to begin their program at Dorset and transfer into the Edwards Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) program.

This 1+3 agreement will allow students who complete the Business Studies program at Dorset to transfer 30 credits into the B.Comm. program at Edwards.

“We are excited to have found a partner in the Edwards School of Business to provide a new opportunity for our students,” said Michael Weber, vice-president of Dorset College. “From British Columbia’s coast and mountains to Saskatchewan’s prairies and forests, our international students will get a unique opportunity to experience Canada’s diverse landscape and culture through this partnership.”

The Edwards B.Comm. helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills demanded by employers around the world.

Upon successful completion of the B.Comm. degree at Edwards, students can enter the workforce in Canada or return to their home countries with an internationally accredited degree from one of Canada’s oldest business schools.

“We warmly welcome qualified transfer students from Dorset College,” said Keith Willoughby, dean of the Edwards School of Business. “This new pathway will provide Dorset students with a fantastic opportunity to further their studies while enhancing their knowledge of both the Canadian and Saskatchewan business environment and economy.”

Dorset College has negotiated credit transfer options, including entry into degree programs, with a number of universities and colleges across Canada. The University of Saskatchewan has secured, and continues to pursue, transfer articulation agreements with domestic and international post-secondary institutions, allowing for more options and flexibility for transfer students.
